Hydrating Lemonade

Who doesn’t LOVE lemon aid?? Fresh, tangy and deliciously sweet!! A great way to cool down, stay hydrated, and feel refreshed!! Lemons are super detoxifying, a super antioxidant, filled with vitamin, an awesome immune booster, a super organ food and an overall system flusher. We LOVE our lemons!! Sometimes the kids will just cut a half moon section and suck on it just like that….but they are much tougher than me!!

This recipe is one that we make often in our home, its super healthy and so easy the kiddos can make it all alone!! I hope you and your family love it as much as we do!!

INGREDIENTS:

- ¼ cup of organic lemon juice (I use Santa Cruz organic, the little round, yellow lemon squeezers are NOT real lemon juice and often laced with sulphites) OR the juice of 3 lemons.

- 6 cups of water

- 1/8-1/4 cup monk fruit sweetener (personally, I find this is one of the better tasting, no calorie sweeteners out there and will not raise blood sugar)

- 1 steam of fresh mint (optional)

- 1 steam of fresh lavender (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

Mix well until sweetener is dissolved and enjoy on the rocks!!

Tips:

-Raw unpasteurized honey is a great alternative sweetener for someone who does not have issues with blood sugar because of its amazing health benefits. Just be careful you do not give honey to a child under the age of 12 months.
